Eligibility for IIT Jee Exam


Following are the eligibility for entering in IIT JEE exam. If you do not fall under these categories that you are not allowed to sit in the exam.

1. For appearing in the IIT JEE exam, student must clear Class 12th or equivalent examination

2. Students having 75% in the 12th class can appear in this exam. For reserved categories students, 65% is required to sit for the exam. Therefore it is necessary to focus on class 12th first and if required, prepare your maths with the help of IIT JEE maths video lectures.

3. A student can appear in the IIT exam for three times in consecutive years.

4. The percentage of higher secondary marks will not be calculated in the rank of IIT JEE exam

5 Colleges of IIT's and NIT's are allocated on the basis of the IIT-JEE score card.

6. It is necessary to clear both phases of IIT JEE exam

7 Only Indian students and J&K students are allowed to appear in the exam.

8. A student who is failed or secured below 75 % or 65 % (for reserved category)in class 12th is not allowed to enter in the exam.

10. If a student cleared the IIT-JEE exam in 2016 and paid the fee of college but did not except the allocated seat in 2016 is also eligible to appear in IIT-JEE 2017.

All the above-mentioned criteria are required to enter in the IIT JEE exam.
